Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration of St. Michael the Archangel Monastery
As a Franciscan community of Poor Clare Nuns of Perpetual Adoration, our essence is a common life of contemplative prayer grounded in Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in a spirit of thanksgiving. Being conformed to our Divine Spouse through this life of intimate prayer, and following in the footsteps of St. Francis of Assisi, and our own Mother Angelica, we then give joyful witness to Him to the world outside the monastery through appropriate, evangelical apostolic activities.
We live a life of pray and work which revolves around Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. It is His Presence that has brought us together in community. Just as the Eucharist is the heart of the Church, so too He is the heart of our vocation as PCPAs. In the final years of his pontificate John Paul II wrote much about "contemplating the face of Christ with Mary." With Mary, the perfect disciple and preeminent adorer, we gaze in loving adoration upon the face of Jesus, veiled beneath the appearance of Bread.
